In regard to your message sent to the Bucharest Transport Company (STB SA), registered with no. 105229/2023, we inform you that, at the request of the representatives of the control team, passengers are required to present the transport card loaded as valid and validated immediately upon boarding the used means of transport. If at the time of the check, the proof of the existence of the valid travel title cannot be proved, the controllers apply a sanction according to the legal provisions.
If it is desired to validate a trip for an accompanying person, the multiple validation procedure will be followed.
Multiple validation is performed by pressing button 2 (in STB SA vehicles, except for Otokar and Mercedes Citaro hybrid buses) or the “+” button of the validator (in Otokar and Mercedes Citaro hybrid buses) and by approaching the card to the validator, after the card has been previously validated for one person.
This operation must be repeated for each person of the group, and the value of the trips is deducted from the card.
The validator confirms each validation of the card by displaying the message „Călătorie plăcută!” ("Have a nice trip!") and by a short beep, followed by the ignition of the green led.
Details on how to validate the transport card and use the equipment located in the means of transport, you can get by visiting our website, https://www.stbsa.ro/eng/validare-si-consultare-carduri_eng.
Not knowing this information does not exempt you from paying the fine, as it is available on the STB SA website, in English, by accessing https://www.stbsa.ro/eng/index.
Compliance with local laws and rules is an obligation that foreign citizens are not exempt from. Citizens on the territory of Romania are subject to the jurisdiction of this state, entering into their duties to inform themselves about their obligations and to respect them.
We also specify that only during the working hours does the travel card controller hold the control documents on him.
We mention that we are in a testing period with mixed control teams, with and without specific equipment (vests with STB Control insignia) in order to identify passengers who pay for their journey only at the sight of the control body. The aim is to encourage the payment of travel and awareness of the need for civilized behavior in public transport.
We specify that the control teams without vests present the nominal card containing the employee's photo, his position and the service number, this aspect being very important, so that there is no doubt on the part of passengers as to the quality of the controller.
Control teams are processed regarding their obligations in relation to the traveling public, namely during the control activity, to adopt a firm but polite attitude based on respect, to give accurate information to the requests made by the passengers, to check and sanction all persons traveling without valid transport title.
Information can also be obtained by phone at number 021.9391 – Call Center STB S.A., key 3, working hours from Monday to Friday between 07.00 and 15.00.
