In regard to your message sent to the Bucharest Transport Company (STB S.A.), registered with no. 66145/20.06.2022, we inform you the following:

When traveling with the public transport vehicles operated by STB SA, please note that the trip payment by 24Pay app or SMS must be made before boarding vehicles, as mentioned on our website (https://stbsa.ro/eng/24pay_eng, https://stbsa.ro/eng/sms_new_eng).

Unfortunately, when you got on the bus you didn’t have a valid ticket, as you mentioned, which is why our employees issued you a surcharge card.

The control activity is carried out by our ticket inspectors, in order to ensure optimum safety and order conditions within the surface public transport vehicles and to combat fraudulent trips.

When asked by the ticket inspectors, passengers must provide the tickets they are using and the owners of nominal subscription or credentials must provide, on request, their IDs.

Traveling without a valid ticket is considered a contravention, and according to the regulation of the local public transport community service for Bucharest and Ilfov county, the fine set for this offense is between 300 and 500 lei. In this case, passengers may pay on the spot a ticket with special rate – surcharge, with a value of 80 lei and the ticket inspectors will not write a report on the offense.
