In regard to your message sent to the Bucharest Transport Company (STB SA), registered with no. 65687/08.06.2022, we inform you the following:
After checking the reported situation, we found that your travel card (no. xxx1012) wasn't validated before our employees started the control activity, although it interacted with two validators from the bus, on 2nd June 2022, at 17:12 and 17:14. The validation was not completed, as the card was not validated properly, and the validator displayed the following message: „Repetați validarea la același validator” ("Repeat validation on the same validator"). This is the reason why at the time of the control it turned out that your travel card was not validated. The only correct validation of your travel card was performed only after the control activity was ended. However, we mention that our employees did not fine you.
Before traveling with the public transport vehicles operated by STB SA, please make sure that you know how to validate the card at the electronic equipments installed for this purpose into the vehicles.
The validation is performed by approaching the card to the central area of the validator, at a distance of 1-2 cm from the area specially marked for this purpose, for 2-3 seconds.
The validator confirms the validation of the card by displaying the message „Călătorie plăcută!” („Have a nice trip!”) and by a short beep, followed by the ignition of the green led.
When the card does not interact enough time with the validator, the processing of the information on the card is not completed and the validator displays the message „Repetați validarea la același validator” ("Repeat validation on the same validator") and makes a long beep, followed by the ignition of the red led.
Details about card validation are displayed in the public transport vehicles, as well as on our website (at the following link: https://stbsa.ro/eng/validare-si-consultare-carduri_eng), both in Romanian and in English.
The control activity is carried out by our ticket inspectors, in order to ensure optimum safety and order conditions within the surface public transport vehicles and to combat fraudulent trips.
When asked by the ticket inspectors, passengers must provide the tickets they are using and the owners of nominal subscription or credentials must provide, on request, their IDs.
Traveling without a valid ticket is considered a contravention, and according to the regulation of the local public transport community service for Bucharest and Ilfov county, the fine set for this offense is between 300 and 500 lei. In this case, passengers may pay on the spot a ticket with special rate – surcharge, with a value of 80 and the ticket inspectors will not write a report on the offense.
We regret any inconvenience you have faced and we thank you for your understanding!
