In regard to your message sent to the Bucharest Transport Company (STB SA), registered with no. 63602/12.04.2022, we inform you the following:

Trip payment with the contactless bank card directly to the validator in the public transport vehicles is available only for Otokar and hybrid Mercedes Citaro buses and for tram 1, 10 and 41. Therefore, if you choose to pay for the trip with the contactless bank card, you must make sure that it is possible to use this payment method inside the vehicles you are going to travel with before boarding. When the ticket inspectors are carrying out the control activity they present their badge, which contains their photo, function and service number. Also, when asked by the ticket inspectors, passengers must provide the tickets they are using and the owners of nominal subscription or credentials must provide, on request, their IDs.

Traveling without a valid ticket is considered a contravention, and according to the regulation of the local public transportation community service for Bucharest and Ilfov county, the fine set for this offense is between 300 and 500 lei. In this case, passengers may pay on the spot a ticket with special rate – surcharge, with a value of 80 and the ticket inspectors will not write a report on the offense.
