In regard to your message sent to Bucharest Transport Company (STB SA), registered with no. 62841/22.03.2022, we inform you the following:

After checking the reported situation, we found that your travel card was validated only for one person at that time, even if you used the multiple validation operation, but you did not previously validate the card for one person. Our employees also stated that at the time of the control the card you traveled with was validated only for one person, and that you had behaved inappropriately, refusing to identify yourself, mentioning that you do not know how the charging system works, because you are not from Romania. However, our employees did not fine you.

When traveling by surface public transport, please make sure that you know how to validate the card at the electronic equipments installed for this purpose into the vehicles.

The validation is performed by approaching the card to the central area of the validator, at a distance of 1-2 cm from the area specially marked for this purpose, for 2-3 seconds.

Multiple validation is performed by pressing button 2 (in STB SA vehicles, except for Otokar and Mercedes Citaro hybrid buses) or the “+” button of the validator (in Otokar and Mercedes Citaro hybrid buses) and by approaching the card to the validator, after the card has been previously validated for one person.

The validator confirms the validation of the card by displaying the message „Călătorie plăcută!” („Have a nice trip!”) and by a short beep, followed by the ignition of the green led.

The control activity is carried out by our ticket inspectors, in order to ensure optimum safety and order conditions within the surface public transportation vehicles and to combat fraudulent trips.

When asked by the ticket inspectors, passengers must provide the tickets they are using and the owners of nominal subscription or credentials must provide, on request, their IDs.

Traveling without a valid ticket is considered a contravention, and according to the regulation of the local public transportation community service for Bucharest and Ilfov county, the fine set for this offense is between 300 and 500 lei. In this case, passengers may pay on the spot a ticket with special rate – surcharge, with a value of 80 and the ticket inspectors will not write a report on the offense.

We regret any inconvenience you have faced and we thank you for your understanding!
